Bill: Autonomy for Arglon
Details
Submitted by[?]: Restoration Party
Status[?]: defeated
Votes: This bill is a resolution. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: August 2064
Description[?]:
Our departmental obligations require us to consider every option at our disposal to end the civil war, and yes it is a war, currently scurging our great country. As a solution, we will propose a constitutional ammendment, or series of ammendments, to do the following: Arglon wukk be granted FULL autonomy of domestic policy, but agrees to defer to the federal govt for foreign affiars, and to apply all of the tenets of the constition (i.e. laws can differ, but nothing at of harmony with the constitution itself) Second, by voting yes, all rebels agee to lay down their arms, and maintain allegiance to the new consitution. This federal arrangement will clearly be tested by the drama of our electoral system. For this reason, we feel it s important to have some ceremonial head of state beyond the elected president. This ammendment calls for us to invite the current heir to restore the throne here. The state will contribute no funds to the upkeep of the Habsburg estate, but will naturally cover costs for government related travel. This change will in no way alter the powers of the elected president, but is intended as a symbol to unite our disparate peoples. In light of the autonomy of these two states, our nation will be known as: Valurzian Federation: A Habsburg Federation of 2 Empires. Finally, Arglon will have a new capital city to celebrate their autonomy. I hope you will seriously consider this proposal. |

Message | OOC: Please do not use Real Life characters like the Habsburg dynasty :) The Lib Dems are totally against a ceremonial Head of State. Also creating a new city and making it a capital is very expensive. Furthermore it's preposterous and ridicolous to have a city named after a politician who supports terrorism. We shall vote no! |
