Message | Mr Speaker, I recognise that the Kalistan United Party has no seats in this place and thank you for the opportunity to address this Citizens Bill. The KUP believe that all education institutions should be secular in nature and to accomplish that are asking that this place agree to the Articles propsed in this Act. I should note that while Religious education institutions will no longer be able to operate, Private education institutions can still occur within the community under legislation that is already in force. Due to the nature of this being a Citizens Bill, I would ask that it be out directly to a vote. Thank you, Dan Nicholls President Kalistan United Party |

Message | We see no reason to support this. We don't wish to promote state atheism - we want secularism. We shouldn't deny PRIVATE INSTITUTIONS the right to promote certain religions. If these were public schools, that would be a different story, but since these religious schools are a part of the private sector, the government has no right to deny them their religious freedom in this way. |
