Bill: New Right to Work Act

Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: June 4374
Description[?]:
Why should these unions be able to force people to stay unemployed, just because that person doesn't want to pay their union fees? I support the right to collectively bargain, but union membership has to be voluntary. What are they, the mafia? "If you want a job.. you will have to join the family first.. and it will not be cheap." We must protect our workers from being forced into a paid membership, just because they found a job at a store in a certain union's cartel territory. Our workers must maintain the right to join a union, and the right to not be forced into a union. Union security agreements (which are what results in closed-shops, union-shops, and agency-shops) are trusts, and they are unfair to workers who want to work for a company and not work for a union. |
Proposals
Article 1
Proposal[?] to change Closed shops are places of employment where only members of a specific union are allowed to work; union shops can hire non-members, but these have to become members after a certain time; agency shops can hire non-members, who have to pay a fee to cover the unions costs. All three are erected by union agreements. (Only valid if unions are legal)
Old value:: Closed shops, union shops and agency shops are legal.
Current: Closed shops, union shops and agency shops are legal.
Proposed: Only open shops are legal.
