Current: Local governments may set up forestry agencies. Where they do not, forestry is on a commercial basis.
Proposed: Local governments are required to operate forestry agencies, which own and manage all forest land.

| Message | Aleandro Vizza, LdC Spokesperson on Environment and Tourism: Mr Speaker, The national agency has a much better view on how forests are being managed nationwide. We agree that regional sub-contraction will lead to a better regional management, but that also includes that a nationwide agency leads to better national management, and that is what we prefer. |
