Description[?]:
Why are phone companies randomly regulated more than any other industry in this country? Phone services are just like any other industry, so why the special government oppression? If we really want to lower phone service costs, we would stop regulating their prices. Over-regulation and artificial price setting have never done anything but hamper innovation. Competition and competition alone can drive down prices, not arbitrarily set government decrees of a price. Also, phone service is extraordinarily cheap, if you get the bare minimum. This is not an essential product anyway. I believe that we can't just let poor people die and that we should do something to get them food, and clothes and such. But, phone services are a non-essential product, and I see no reason to force others to pay for it whenever someone who can't afford it, wants it. |
