Date | 17:11:10, April 11, 2018 CET | From | Rutanian Rural Party | To | Debating the Economic Freedom Act |
Message | Monopolies have nothing to do with economic freedom, they hurt small businesses and they decrease competition. This sort of crony capitalism is bad for the working man and the small business owners. It only benefits the super rich. |
Date | 17:23:15, April 11, 2018 CET | From | Whig Party | To | Debating the Economic Freedom Act |
Message | Deregulating the economy allows for greater economic competition and freedom. When the first successful home computer company opened should the government have broken them up because they held a monopoly on an economic sector that they created? The Whig Party believes capitalism should be allowed to operate unfettered by government intervention this is the only way to shake the chains of socialism and communism -Carson Threadgood Former Prime Minister Chairman of the Whig Party |
Date | 17:49:58, April 11, 2018 CET | From | Democratic Socialist Party of Rutania | To | Debating the Economic Freedom Act |
Message | The Whigs' idea of 'economic freedom': banning co-operatives, restricting the voluntary agreements allowed between unions and firms, attacking workers' rights, and allowing anti-competitive business practice. What next: the 'freedom' to own slaves? |
Date | 17:58:28, April 11, 2018 CET | From | Rutanian Rural Party | To | Debating the Economic Freedom Act |
Message | In what way exactly does unregulating monopolies increase competition when even the definition of monopoly is "the exclusive possession or control of the supply of or trade in a commodity or service". Exclusivity is the polar opposite of competition. After all isn't competition the essence of capitalism? Big corporations doing whatever they want is certainly not. |
Date | 18:26:23, April 11, 2018 CET | From | Whig Party | To | Debating the Economic Freedom Act |
Message | De-regulating monopolies will allow successful Rutanian companies and corporations the ability to compete internationally un-impeded by the hand of the nanny state. Instead of stifling the success of Rutanian corporations we should encourage their economic success. -Carson Threadgood Former Prime Minister Chairman of the Whig Party |
Date | 19:09:06, April 11, 2018 CET | From | Rutanian Rural Party | To | Debating the Economic Freedom Act |
Message | By encouraging their economic success the Whigs propably mean granting these big corporations privileges and oppressing their competitors in exchange for money from their lobbyists. In fact, this scheming between the business class and the political class is what creates monopolies in the first place. Along with the competition element of capitalism, this also takes away the element of risk-taking, as corporations would no longer have to take work hard to become successful. Instead they could just lobby for political and economic power and get their competitors out of the market. Regulating monopolies is a necessary evil to keep our free market competitive and small business friendly. |

Message | Only for the continually of my collation with the Whigs. This is their pre determined condition to supporting my party. The opposition may call us an anti environmentalist party, whichever we are. Plus the others are leftist in nature. |
Date | 13:39:26, April 12, 2018 CET | From | Rutanian Rural Party | To | Debating the Economic Freedom Act |
Message | So the "Progressive" party has decided to become a puppet party for the Whigs. This just proves that you don't care about progressiveness, you are just hungry for money and power. Way to go, you just lost all of your credibility in one vote. |
Date | 14:04:22, April 12, 2018 CET | From | Progressive Party | To | Debating the Economic Freedom Act |
Message | We stand for deregulation and liberalism. It's what I would call political opportunistic. And plus don't give me that holy is thou speech. Let me remind you that you and the Realist Collation supported you. Even I was shocked by the results. Are you bitter that your party couldn't win the presidency? For all I know, the next election could see my party crashing and burning out of the People's Assembly. |

Date | 16:43:02, April 12, 2018 CET | From | Whig Party | To | Debating the Economic Freedom Act |
Message | Mr. Speaker, Under this bill the power of the corrupt unions will finally be curbed in a meaningful way. Under this bill markets in Rutania will thrive and I would venture as far as saying we will more than likely see unemployment fall like never before with the market being unchained and allowed to thrive.
