Bill: Axis Mundi Capitol Relocation Bill
Details
Submitted by[?]: Commonwealth Workers Army
Status[?]: defeated
Votes: This bill asks for an amendement to the Constitution. It will require two-thirds of the legislature to vote in favor. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: June 2197
Description[?]:
Axis Mundi Anarch Anakousites would like to place before the convocation, the suggestion that we relocate our nation's Capitol (and, thus, our capital) to St. Vodinsburg, Sorbanika. Sorbanika is our most populated prefecture, so there is a certain amount of logic to relocating the Capitol to be near as many citizens, and as many of 'the people', as possible. As the AAP faction has previously suggested, why not use St. Vodinsburg Cathedral Monastery (which has been empty for years) as the Capitol and seat of civil office, and relocate the Convocation assembly to St. Vodinsburg Cathedral Chapter House (the eight-sided former auditorium?) |

Message | Thanks to the AM RLP for their support. What about this proposition does the Proletariat Front dislike? |

Message | The fact that the cost is being passed onto the tax payer. |

Message | And the tax revenue could be spend on something worthwhile instead of this... this is a waste of taxpayer money and a waste of government time. |

Message | The cost of your entire parties salaries are being passed on to the taxpayers... and, as far as I know, the AAP is the only Likatonian party on record as paying party reps minimum wage. Is it a 'waste of taxpayer money', to place the government offices where they can do most good? |

Message | Oh... I see... you're now using the 'minimum wage' act to say that you've been paying minimum wage. That act hasn't been around that long. And the offices can do well even in a small city. And the civil servants? They get paid with tax payer money. All of us pay taxes, and ironically, we're paid with money we pay in taxes... so, in a way we pay our own salary (in a small manner). |

Message | Still trying to pass this? Even more surprising, you still haven't succeeded? Tsk! Nevarn City is immortal. For the reason stated by the Axis Mundi Proletariat Front, in protest of the sheer inefficiency and expense of moving the capitol, the Front for State Prosperity will be voting against this. |

Message | Actually... no, the AM AAP wasn't using the minimum wage act as justification. We were actually referring to discussions a LONG time ago (probably, the turn of the century, or not long after) where the Anarch Anakrousite Party (as I believe they still were at that point) discussed their pay scheme... about how all of the party members receive an equal wage, at 'minimum wage' scale. |

Message | It IS a shame to see this legislation come so close, and fall at the last hurdle. |

Random fact: Cabinet ministers who disagree seriously with the head of government would usually be expected to resign. Parties within the cabinet may attempt to manoeuvre to replace the head of government though, for example by proposing a new cabinet bill or voting for an early election. |
