Bill: Nuclear weapons policy
Details
Submitted by[?]: Kirlawan Social Democrat Party
Status[?]: defeated
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: May 4381
Description[?]:
At present legislation is in place that allows our country to target non civilian areas with nuclear weapons however current legislation also has it that we cannot store or produce nuclear weapons. This is a contradiction which we should rectify. For the most the SDLP believe that nuclear weapons are destructive and if our country was ever engaged in a nuclear war then the devastation on participating countries would be catastrophic. With that being said I am proposing that the assembly either adopts legislation citing that we will never use nuclear weapons (as we don’t produce or store them anyway). Or we change our legislation on the production and storage of nuclear weapons as a deterrent. |

Message | I have added both policies in the proposals and when opinions are given in the debate stage I will amend as necessary. |

Message | Perhaps split these into separate bills, please, since they do opposite things? Or propose only one or the other of them (and then the other one if that one fails). They probably got out of sync because sometimes some parties miss the vote, so at some point in the past one got changed and the other one didn't. |
