Message | "People will be much more willing to obey the law if they have to pay with their life for breaking it." - Give evidence that a quick and painless death is more of a deterrent than the rest of your life behind bars. Remember that you can release someone from life imprisonment if they are shown to be innocent; you can't under capital punishment. |

Message | Capital punishment does not work in the modern world. Not only that, but it has been shown that removing peoples liberties, either through imprisonment or banishment, works as a much better deterent than execution. Which would be worse for a criminal, death or the knowledge that they will be imprisoned for the rest of their lives working every day without the chance of parole, death would be easy...no? |

Message | @UB-Why does it have to be a painless death? |

Message | "Crime needs to be ended, due to it costing everyone money." On a cynical stance... isn't more productive to have criminals do forced labor all life long instead of killing them and waste precious manpower? |

Message | They are many very painfull ways to die, ecspecially if they are tourtured first. |
Date | 15:31:25, March 09, 2006 CET | From | Nazi Party | To | Debating the Death Penalty Enactment |
Message | If its done with public viewings then others might think a little more before committing a crime that could result in a very painfull death penalty. |
Date | 14:40:19, March 10, 2006 CET | From | We Say So! Party | To | Debating the Death Penalty Enactment |
Message | Public viewings have never proved to be any form of deterrent. The death penalty is an anachronistic way of operating a modern judicial system. |

Message | If we remove the appeal system also we could really make an impact on the re-offending figures. |
