Details
Submitted by[?]: Protectorate Party
Status[?]: defeated
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: April 2064
Description[?]:
It is proposed that the current system of supporting artists be reorganized such that the governement is not required to support large numbers of artist who are able to be supported via their own skills. Thus the following changes are suggested: --each artist is able to receive a copyright for the work they produce which is effective for five yrs or the death of the creator whichever occurs first. --individuals may license the work to another individual or company for distribution, however the creator of the work retains the copyright. --One yr after the copyright is established the work is available for individual, not for profit use provided the creator is cited. |

Old value:: Technology and art are part of the commons and are not protected by copyright.

Random fact: In cases where players introduce RP laws to a nation and then leave, Moderation reserves the discretion to declare the RP laws void if they appear to have fallen into disuse. In particular, please bear in mind that a player who is inexperienced with Particracy role-play and has joined a nation as the only party there should not generally be expected to abide by RP laws implemented by previous players who have been and left. |
