Bill: Termination of Northern Council Membership

Details

Submitted by[?]: Haruzuterēchisuku Refonpātī

Status[?]: passed

Votes: This bill proposes the withdrawal from a treaty. It will require half of the legislature to vote in favor[?]. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: May 4384

Description[?]:

It is with regret that I must now conclude that the Imperial Crownlands of Greater Hulstria and Mikuni's best interest lie outside of the so-called security blanket of the Northern Council.

The alarming, hawkish relish with which the Council has undertaken airstrikes and other military action in Bianje has turned what should have been a limited, punitive operation into a deadly, expanding conflict that is not in the interests of stability for Greater Dovani.

It is our belief that this expanding action is in direct contravention of the First Article (Section1) of the Northern Council Treaty which states:
"The Foundation of the Northern Council is meant for peace and prosperity in the Northern Hemisphere as well as general stability, peace and prosperity throughout the world."

Secondly, the continuing insistence of the Holy Luthori Empire - a prominent member of the NC - to refuse to recognise our nation or enter into diplomatic dialogue, based on a series of false allegations made against our government (http://classic.particracy.net/viewbill.php?billid=565197) means our position has been made untenable.

Our disappointment in the way these events have been allowed to transpire will be passed onto Secretary-General Haakon Egeland

Konrāto Witte, Minister of Foreign Affairs
