| "All adults upon completion of schooling must serve either a term in the military or a lesser paid term of civilian national service, at their option." Pratically, either one way or another, you have to do what I say, either a tough military term or a civilian service, if you're of the laziest ones. This must stop. On the moral side: we, State, have no right to force a citizen to do a certain work for us. Hypotezising a certain danger that could have been avoided with this law - we were right then - then we'll pay our consequences and our citizens will realize that it's important to serve the country to counter such dangers. Forcing them gives no long term benefit. Making them want it does. Will is power. On the practical side: a volunteer-formed civilian/military service is much more specialized and efficient of a forced one. And well paid as well. |
