Message | Mr Speaker, I bring before parliament today a bill which will ensure the security and safety of all Hutorian citizens in the event of an uprising or terrorist attack. Under extreme circumstances, I support law enforcement agencies and the military to be able to use torture as a measure of obtaining vital information. We must always act in the interest of our country and I believe that the Justice Department should be able to achieve this through whatever means necessary. Think of the potential lives saved if we are able to extract this information in emergencies where without doing so, could lead to the deaths of many Fredrick Stanton Member for Fairfield Justice Spokesperson for the National Reform Party |

Message | Mr. Speaker, I cannot stress the position of this government enough: state-sponsored torture breeds enemies. Hutori will be less safe if we succumb to the whims of the mob that is the Reform Party and decide to sponsor torture. It is ineffective in interrogations as subjects will say anything to end the pain - even providing false intel that could get our soldiers killed. I can do much more in an interrogation with a 6-pack of beer and a carton of cigarettes than anyone else can do with waterboarding. Furthermore, our enemies would use Hutori state-sponsored torture as a recruiting tool. We do not need any more enemies. We ask our friends in the government and in the opposition to vote "No" on this bill. Pavel Jucewicz MP for Aylesbury South Government Defence Minister |
