Status[?]: defeated

Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Description[?]:

Television should be entirely private so as to better represent the population of Beluzia. The unfair system of funding just one channel is archaic and unresonable.

MessageIt's not archaic and unreasonable. A publicly owned TV station that does not rely on profit can deliver programming in minority languages, such as overseas news services, as well as educational programs and documentaries...typically programs that do not turn much of a profit and thus mainstream private media will not cater for. In addition, with public funding, the broadcasts can reach rural areas that private media corporations have little interest in investing in because of the low profit incentive.

MessageThe television broadcasting network of communication masts has national coverage and provides even coverage to all parts of the country o it does reach "rural areas".

MessageAs our friends in the LCP have stated, publically-founded radios and television stations exist to do what private corporations won't do because its unprofitable: provide educational programs, reach far-away rural areas, minority languages, etc.
