Message | While a merit based system of immigration is not the best solution to the immigration crisis of our time, as prioritising immigration applications based on their skills and education rather than familial relations would be a marked shift in immigration policy and one that could have detrimental repercussions on Beluzia's economy and its values if executed poorly. This system vilifies family-based immigration, replacing the image of reuniting families with that of an invading wave of foreigners exploiting our nation’s social safety net. This rhetoric is used to justify the massive cuts to family-based immigration and immigration as a whole, a move that flies in the face of our nation’s commitment to providing opportunity and safety for citizens of the world yearning for a chance to thrive. It might not be popular with our party, but neither should immigration be determined by the colour of your skin, your race, your language or your culture, as that is against human and civil rights and is blatant racial discrimination. |

Message | Although we believe in the rights of a free movement, and the concept of Multi-Nationalism. We understand the need to cap immigration within our country and therefore see this as being a semi-permanent solution to the issue. |

Random fact: "OOC", "IC" and "IG" are commonly-used acronyms in Particracy. "OOC" refers to comments, discussions and actions which are out-of-character, meaning they are done player-to-player rather than party-to-party. "IC" refers to in-character interactions (ie. party-to-party). Similarly, "IG" means in-game, although this term may also simply refer to what happens in the actual game interface, as opposed to on the forum or elsewhere. "RP" just means "role-play". |
