Bill: Education Compromise Bill

Details

Submitted by[?]: Factio Liberalis

Status[?]: defeated

Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: May 4396

Description[?]:

We understand that the Senate did not want to permit selective schools, so we would like to issue the following compromise: schools won't be selective, but if students want to take the initiative and can prove themselves to be above-average in intelligence, then they can take higher level classes. By the way, for the National Republic Party and other affiliated socialist parties, the USSR had selective high schools, so please take that into account. Surely teachers know the most about what's right for their students?

MessageJust in case Factio Liberalis hasn't noticed, this isn't the USSR, we aren't the Bolshevik party. The decisions made then are not relevant here. If you can't debate selective education on the basis of its merits but on who implemented it when, you know there isn't any real reason for the policy to be implemented.

MessageBy the way, if you want bi-partisan support for a bill, you may not want to prod the governing parties when explaining the reasoning behind the bill.
