Message | Karl Abiodun, leader of the Congress of the Left: Mr. Speaker, We propose this legislation as we say in the description: to loosen somewhat the restrictions on laborers in Talmoria. Obviously this country isn't at the point where we can throw the doors open for laborers to take over... that's a silly proposal that few would agree with. However, the Congress of the left sees our current laws as a remnant of our imperial past- one in where the scales are tilted firmly towards business owners and foreign investors. We think this provides a set of common-sense proposals to actually REDUCE regulations on employment and on workers while promoting benefits for an educated and protected Talmorian workforce. Let us move forward to help provide and support this country's workers, particularly those in our factories and in our businesses, and you will see that we can all benefit. |

Message | Christian Hannover, Minister for Finance "Is that what we're calling it? Loosening restrictions? Mr. Speaker, this legislation empowers union bosses and their hierarchies at the expense of individual workers and hard-working businessmen and women in Talmoria. Our government should come down on the side of workers, not bosses - whether they be in a boardroom or collecting union dues. The Progressive Republicans stand opposed to this legislation." |
Date | 04:01:43, May 22, 2018 CET | From | New Republican Front (NRF) | To | Debating the Talmorian Labor Relations Act |
Message | Ugochukwu Buchi, Chairman of the NRF "This bill will only hurt our economy. Foreign workers form the backbone of our economic system; they deserve to be treated with the same respect as our citizens. Legislation strengthening unionization has the potential to slow economic growth, which has been proven to empower our workers. This legislation takes power away from the states. Some may support unionization more than others. They should have the right to represent their populace and decide whether or not to facilitate this debilitating legislation." |
