| This bill will increase taxation on essentials in order to find cuts to luxury taxes. The bill will ensure that essentials taxes are significantly lower than luxury taxes. Concerns of this affecting low incomes can be offset by the 5% tax cut in income taxes and in fact will lead to a net increase in pay of 2% following the new tax bill. Overall taxes on the lowest incomes will have fallen from 20% to 13% once the new income tax proposals are passed. |
