Description[?]:
Just to be on the safe side. It has been brought to our attention that the Communists want to plunge Egelion into another Civil War. Therefore we prepare this motion to kill any terrorist activity at birth. ==Domestic Other laws that are already on the statute books and would probably help the government; - Nation's policy with regards to an intelligence agency - The nation has an intelligence agency that is permitted by law to undertake all types of covert operations in other countries - The confidentiality of letters and correspondence.- The confidentiality of letters is inviolable, but the justice dept. can violate the confidentiality of letters with grounded cause. - Ownership of guns by private individuals. - Adult individuals may own guns under strict license conditions. (Thank you to the Communists for making it harder to own firearms - http://classic.particracy.net/viewbill.php?billid=569520 ) - Appointments and requirements for government employees. - Government employees are selected and appointed in a political way. As per - http://classic.particracy.net/viewbill.php?billid=567172 anyone associated with the Partido Comunista de Egelion http://classic.particracy.net/viewparty.php?partyid=32031 was disqualified from employment by the state. - Government's position on paramilitaries. - Paramilitaries are allowed but are heavily regulated by the government. As per http://classic.particracy.net/viewbill.php?billid=567172 and http://classic.particracy.net/viewbill.php?billid=569031 only the Liga para la Salvación y la Reconquista and Sobrevenir are legally allowed a paramilitary organisation. - The confidentiality of letters and correspondence. - The confidentiality of letters is inviolable, but the justice dept. can violate the confidentiality of letters with grounded cause. - The government's position towards the use of forensic DNA databases. - DNA from persons accused or convicted for a crime is recorded. - The government's stance on illegal aliens. - The government actively searches houses for illegal aliens and expels them from the country. - Government's policy towards the powers of the police. - The police may arrest crime suspects. - The government's policy towards police presence. - The police patrol all property at all times. Additionally whereas in the late 4370's the Armed Forces, Police and Intelligence Agencies would likely have contained many communist sympathizers, following the Civil War, the banning of the Communist Party and over twenty years of rule by the Liga such organs of state security would likely be very very anti-communist, and very committed to that anti-communism. ==International Egelion is a member of the Northern Council Treaty - http://classic.particracy.net/viewtreaty.php?treatyid=3378. This Treaty organisation includes the follow countries; Reino de Egelion Bundesrepublik Hulsterreich und Mikuni - Ōsutoria Renpō Haruzuterusuaiku undo Gao-Soto (Federal Republic of Hulstria and Mikuni) Manrick Union, Telamon/Grenmark / Manrick Stéttarfélags, Tælmörk/Grænmörk Confederația Noului Endralon, Kizenia și Kuzaki (New Endralon / Kizenia) État Canrillaise de Lourenne Holy Luthori Empire Manrick Union, Kazulia / Manrick Union, Kazulmark Dundorfische Demokratische Republik (DDR) Commonwealth of Rutania Commonwealth of Hutori Republic of Dolgava Arbeiterrepublik Dorvik These countries are bound to provide collective security (defined as working together with members to provide for security and safety of member’s citizens, collective security is not always defined as direct military intervention but also humanitarian aid and supporting members combined with military aid if able to be provided). ooc: This is all hypothetical and will not be put to vote. However it highlights that any Communist attempt to start a Civil War wth or without outside help would be crushed at birth. |

Message | “To my assembled colleagues, this is draft emergency legislation which allows the government to create a State of Emergency in the event of Communist terrorism, allowing the security forces additional powers to provide security throughout Egelion. This time the government is prepared for Communist terrorism. We will not be surprised like last time (see here http://forum.particracy.net/viewtopic.php?f=17&t=55&start=130#p131819 ) when the Communists launched terrorists attacks killing hundreds of civilians and began a six year civil war. The Communists may hate Egelion and democracy, but the Liga and its allies will fight to preserve Egelion and electoral freedoms.” Minister of Internal Affairs - Estefania Alcabú |
