MessageMr. Speaker,

I'm open to this proposal. My only issue is what this might do to our budget on Infrastructure and Transport. I will look over the numbers and see if we can make it work. If it's not too much of a strain, we may have to adjust our budget a bit, we'll see.

We are devided on this topic. Why should the government fund this exactly? Right now its quite fair. The poorest are getting public transport for free, if they can not afford a car. The richer are most likelu not to use public transport, if the quality is as low as it is. Myself went to work by bus this morning. And i found i am utterly disgusted by public transport. Delays, crowded, and seat which are harder than a Block of concrete. I will vote against this bill

MessageMr. Speaker,

Although we appreciate the spirit of this bill, we think it would overstretch the budget whilst simultaneously only working for the richer citizens. If you can’t afford to use public transport right now, the government will help you with that. This bill would have the government pay for the public transport for citizens who can actually afford to pay for themselves. Therefore, we of the Liberal Party will not support this bill.

MessageMr. Speaker,

We share the opinion of the minister, funding for this issue might become a problem. However we of the PSP believe free public transport should be a right, and therefore support this proposal.

MessageMr. Speaker,

this can be accomplished for the nationalized public transport. Every citizen should have right to that. If they choose to use privatized public transport, they are free to do so, but we suggest that the State does not intervene in that case.

The LLP is a big supporter of free public transport. According to the LLP this can be achived with the current bill and will thus support this bill.
