Description[?]:
Dear parties, SfG wants to congratulate all of you on the results of the elections. After these elections we have to form a cabinet, and we have two proposals regarding this. 1. RNM, SfG and GPA -> 178 seats Congratulations RNM on becoming the biggest party. Since you were victorious in the elections, we would first like to negotiate what is possible in forming a coalition together with the GPA. Please let me know your ideas on this. 2. SfG, GPA, GL and PCP -> 153 seats We believe that in this coalition we have the most overlapping ideas. This would result in a good coalition. We would like to know the PCP's ideas regarding this proposal. We are also open to other proposals, but we believe these two coalitions to be the best. We would like to stimulate an open discussion about this. Kind regards, Mirella White |

Message | Mss. President, You asked all of us for our opinion. We as the GPA congratulate you on your presidency, and all other parties on their results. We lost some seats in the last election (which was to be expected), and so we don't see ourselves as the first party to start forming a coalition. We thank the SfG for their inclusion of us in their coalition proposals. We are open to negotiations with the RNM. We do see large political differences between our party and the RNM, but we are open to talks and compromises. We would like to start talking behind closed doors as soon as possible, to ensure the maximum level of trust and freedom to talk on any subjects the parties would like to see implemented. Our view of the most overlapping coalition is the same as SfG proposed: SfG, GPA, GL and PCP. We do want to ask the PCP however if they are interested in a coalition, considering they received a rather large defeat in the last elections? We do like to see a coalition which doesn't only alter some government structures, but also has a legislative programm to implement in the coming four years. |

Message | We believe that in the relative unknowns of a new political landscape following sizable victories from all new parties, we would propose a grand coalition of right and left - RNM, SfG, NLP, GPA, with RNM taking the helm of PM (as SfG has control of executive branch). This way, it would best represent the ideological center of the electorate, without an overt leftist nor right-wing bias, for the stability of the nation. |

Message | Thank you for your input. We can see the coalition proposed by NLP happening, but we wonder how we would rule together. Does the NLP believe that we can reach a consensus on major issues in our nation? If that is the case then this coalition proposal is worth discussing. |
Date | 10:52:58, May 28, 2018 CET | From | Gaduridos Labour [PAG] | To | Debating the Cabinet Formation Proposal 4400 |
Message | Labour believes that the Government of this nation should not include parties engaging in illegal paramilitary activities. We could hold that no legitimate government can be formed by a party with a private military association. To that end we would support a grand coalition of lawfully compliant political parties. |

Message | We as the GPA do see the value of a grand coalition. However, we do see serious faultlines in political oppinion between some parties in the Grand Coalition. We don't want to see a coalition that can't govern for the coming four years. We've had enough snap elections already. However, we are open to start negotiations if the SfG proposes the start with parties of his/her liking. We will see if the results are satisfactory. |

Message | Another option could be a coalition between SfG, NLP, GPA and Labour. In that case we do include the voice of the people that voted more to the right of the spectrum. We invite NLP, GPA and Labour to share their opinions on this proposal. |

Message | We await the SfG final proposal and we will start talks. We will see whether or not that can lead to a stable majority government. |
Date | 11:18:30, May 28, 2018 CET | From | Gaduridos Labour [PAG] | To | Debating the Cabinet Formation Proposal 4400 |
Message | NLP would have to disband its illegal paramilitary before further discussions on this line would be entertained by Labour. |

Message | On the paramilitary - OOC, I simply haven't gotten around to changing the descriptions around just yet. Paramilitaries were legal in darker times of the nation, but we consider it to have been disbanded along with the 2nd iteration of the NLP (this is the 3rd). On the idea of grand coalitions - we have already agreed to an alliance of the Right-wing with the RNM - simply speaking, the NLP will not accept a coalition without the RNM being included. This, of course, does not omit negotiations, but we would want the RNM to also take part in any such negotiations. Policies on budget and government restructuring would be the agenda, most likely (but we'll have to wait til the RNM makes their statement as well). Once we can get an official post-election RNM take, the NLP will be open to immediately begin talks on stable governance. On this matter, however, we would also urge haste once this statement is given, since the current coalition is made up of the smallest party only - which I'm sure the PCP themselves would agree is undemocratic. |

Message | Also, if you're wondering, the "darker times" involved the militarization of a Red Guard by the Communist Party. NLP and other right-wing offices and officials during that perilous time were threatened with violent revolution. The NLP, being the head of the Conservative Alliance of the time, formed a paramilitary to, in cooperation with the armed forces of the legitimate government, flush out the Red Guard and restore order to the nation. Hence, we are well-aware of the dangers of paramilitaries, if there was any doubt. |

Message | That makes perfect sense NLP. We await the response of RNM. |

Message | OOC: Massive win for Labour as NLP paramilitary suddenly disappears. |

Message | OOC: Not a big win for labor, just clarification. NLP Paramilitary has always been disbanded in 3rd iteration - but thanks for pointing it out. |

Random fact: By default the head of government is the ultimate authority within a national government. In general terms, heads of government are expected to consult with cabinet colleagues (including those from other parties) before making significant decisions but they remain responsible for government action. |
