| Message | Herr Präsident, We must protest this assault on a valued tradition. Holders of noble titles like the Freiherr von Geraniengau zu Hortensiengau, the Graf Michels and the Bürggraf Goddestreu represent proud family traditions descended from heroes who risked their life and made a lasting impact for the restoration of democracy in this country. To ban them from using these titles - mere ceremony! - would send a signal that the contributions of these families, who dedicated themselves from public service following the example of their ancestors, are not on. | Message | Herr Präsident, To add to the honourable if not noble Herr Heumayr's words, I should like to make a plea myself. I am one of these nobles that are being maligned. The title of Freiherr von Geraniengau has literally been in my family for generations, Vizegraf von Hortensiengau only slightly less so. They are as much part of my family identity as my name. I do not ask you to give any further noble titles, but since they do not carry privileges in the first place, at least give me the privilege of maintaining my name, which was honourable even before my sire Theophilus risked life and limb betraying the racist Hulstrian Party regime and joining with the Septembrists to end apartheid!
