MessageForcing your neighbors to pay for your mistake isn't a right. Outside of medical emergencies, which are covered under current law, why should people have to pay for the mistakes of others?

Also, given that some second-trimester babies (Prema-babies) can survive outside of the mother with the help of medical technology; my party cannot support the abortion timeline change. It is most definitely not just a clump of cells at 6 months; it has tiny hands and feet and is developing lungs and a heart. It's also possible that they can feel pain at that point, as nerves are partially developed.

MessageThis is not just a matter of paying for mistakes, this is a matter of women having the right to control their own bodies. Studies have consistently shown that even up until 6 months, babies are still a fetus and still dependent on their mother barring exceptionable circumstances requiring the most modern technology.

Pathos cannot explain away how many women's situations can change all the way up until the birth. We do not want unwanted or badly cared for babies in the world, and even in the later stages of pregnancy we have many cases of women discovering issues with the baby or with their situations which mean the baby would not have a good enough standard of life.
