Bill: F-127: Air Force Procurement Act

Details

Submitted by[?]: Federal Heritage Party of Hutori

Status[?]: passed

Votes: This bill is a resolution. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: November 4405

Description[?]:

This proposal seeks to procure four new aircraft for the Hutorian Royal Air Force to fill gaps in our current operations.

1) Transport Aircraft: While our current transport aircraft is good for a wide range of applications it has one glaring flaw. It requires a paved runway to land which limits are large scale operations to developed areas. So we propose the development of a supplemental aircraft that is capable of landing in a wider range of locations.

2) Close Air Support (CAS): We currently have no aircraft capable of performing close air support other than our HF-35s. So we propose the development of an aircraft capable of providing CAS.

3) Long Range Strategic Bomber: Our current bomber class is limited in capacity and functionality. Therefore we propose the development of a new bomber to supplement our current bombing detachment.

4) Fuel Tanker: We currently have no fuel tanker aircraft and must rely upon friendly airports and military bases abroad to refuel our squadrons. Therefore we propose the development of a tanker aircraft to expand our airstrike capabilities.

These projects will be put out for bid among Hutorian Defense Corporations each submitting their entry for each category and the winning entry will receive the defense contract. The wining entry will be decided by the Parliamentary Defense Committee.

MessageMr. Speaker,

Not to answer Minister Stewart's question with another question but haven't we outlined options we are looking for? Or are you looking for the criteria that we will judge each entry by?

MessageMr. Speaker

I meant specifically does the Ministry of Defence have currently existing aircraft models in production either from Horizon-Slipstream or a foreign nation that are a good suggestion for our tactical and strategic needs?

MessageMr. Speaker,

This bill is just meant to put these projects up to bid. The parliamentary defense committee will then evaluate applicants based upon factors such as price per unit, range, effectiveness and versatility. While we already have applications pending from JetStream Aerospace & Asvald Gruppen Aerospace those applications are being held until the bidding process is approved. We are also hoping to receive bids from Horizon as soon as the process is approved.
