Message | Bonaparte Desrosiers, Floor Leader of the Congress of the Left: Mr. Speaker, Education is the most powerful tool that we can give the future generations of Talmoria to deal with whatever threats and issues may face this great country in the future. It's one that can help eliminate the divisions and the different outcomes based on race or socioeconomic status or any other factor in this country- providing an equal opportunity for anyone to succeed or to pursue the type of life that they want. And that's why the Congress of the Left has introduced this legislation, first focused on higher education: We want to provide support where it's needed, letting private institutions stand on their own and letting individuals choose freely where to go- but to provide a public option for those who might not be able to afford private school or, in the case of vocational schools, who might not be ready for or want to attend a full university. No matter where you look, the results are clear- that higher educational attainment leads to a wealthier country and a wealthier people. That's why we support this expansion of the availability of education, for everyone. |

Random quote: "Colonialism or imperialism, as the slave system of the West is called, is not something that is just confined to England or France or the United States. The interests in this country are in cahoots with the interests in France and the interests in Britain. It's one huge complex or combine, and it creates what's known not as the American power structure or the French power structure, but an international power structure. This international power structure is used to suppress the masses of dark-skinned people all over the world and exploit them of their natural resources." Malcolm X |
