Bill: Income tax proposal of May 4407

Details

Submitted by[?]: Socialist Party of Kalistan (SPoK)

Status[?]: passed

Votes: This bill proposes to change income taxes. It requires more than half of the legislature to vote yes. This bill will pass as soon as the required yes votes are in, or will be defeated if unsufficient votes are reached on the deadline.

Voting deadline: January 4408

Description[?]:

The Kalistani Revenue Stream needs to be adjusted to provide income for the purchase of Nationalized property, as well as for the rebuilding of the Kalistani Military. These tax adjustments are temporary: We expect them to last for no more than 10 years, after which we will find ways to return the revenue stream to more moderate levels.

This bill proposes an increase in Income Tax revenues of 260% overall, most of the burden falling on the top tax brackets, but even the lower tax brackets sharing some of the burden. This tax structure is strongly progressive, and aims both at funding the National Government through the upcoming reforms, as well as shifting the burden of taxes upward.

Random fact: In cases where players introduce RP laws to a nation and then leave, Moderation reserves the discretion to declare the RP laws void if they appear to have fallen into disuse. In particular, please bear in mind that a player who is inexperienced with Particracy role-play and has joined a nation as the only party there should not generally be expected to abide by RP laws implemented by previous players who have been and left.
