Description[?]:
Here is how the voucher system works: The government hands out vouchers. These vouchers are handed out yearly and can be used to pay for one year of school. Parents then get to decide, even if they have no money of their own, what school their kids go to. The school-choice system has had fantastical and miraculous results wherever it's tried. Studies all agree that kids who go to private schools and charter school end up being leaps and bounds more successful than kids who go to school in government-run mismanaged hellholes. So, not only does this allow for even Homeless children to go to private/charter schools, but it's cheaper for the taxpayer too! Handing out vouchers that pay for school on the behalf of parents who can't pay on their own, is wildly less expensive than running and keeping up thousands of government schools that result in less successful lives for kids who go there. There is no argument against school choice. I have never heard one, nor does one exist. Doesn't this sound like miracle work to the rest of you? poor children get to go to any elementary school and high school they want, and we get to relieve some of the burdens on the taxpayers. For some parties, it may instinctively feel wrong to do something that requires less government spending and involves less government action, but please, think about this honestly for a minute. If you have any compassion for the poor or want to make a massive stride towards increasing upwards mobility, vote for this bill. Even if you just want to do the less expensive option, vote for this bill. There is no argument against this bill. Don't make up some random argument like "but without public schools, we can't control what's taught in schools!" That's markedly untrue. The government can still regulate what's taught in schools and control curriculum without owning and operating the schools. That's how private and charter schools already work. So, with that out of the way, if you have an actual argument against this bill, please present it; so we can all know why you don't want to let poor kids go to fancy private schools and simultaneously lighten the burden on the taxpayers. |

Random fact: It is the collective responsibility of the players in a nation to ensure all currently binding RP laws are clearly outlined in an OOC reference bill in the "Bills under debate" section of the nation page. Confusion should not be created by displaying only some of the current RP laws or displaying RP laws which are no longer current. |
