Voting deadline: August 4408

Description[?]:

Senators,

Seeing that Selucia will not be attending the Majatran Alliance summit, I believe it is necessary to withdraw from this treaty. With international transport networks come drugs and illegal migrants.

MessageThe argument against the Trans-Majatran corridor doesn't make any sense. Maybe the Rexist Party believes that everything from the outside is wrong? Because that's a shame. The Corridor is a way for Selucians to travel abroad to other Majatran nations, and as such, it has to be paid, and people has to pay to get in. So the argument is totally biased and does not reflect the reality.

If the Rexist Party wants to totally isolate Selucia, and lead it to the complete disaster, they won't count with In Marea-Civis Sinistram.

MessageSenators,

Highways have harmful economic, social, and environmental effects, and the fact that we are required by treaty to build and maintain an elaborate and expensive system of highways and railways removes the power of the Selucian people to democratically decide on its own infrastructure projects. Highways release latent traffic demand by creating additional road capacity, causing car owners to use their cars when they would otherwise use alternatives or not travel at all. Communities not reached by the highways experience lower property value and a decline in the quality of housing. By allowing rich residents to commute from the suburbs, highways lead to segregation. Highways impose negative externalities on those that do not use them, including air pollution, noise pollution, reduced community cohesion safety hazards, congestion, and safety hazards. And by reducing the use of public transport highways indirectly cause additional pollution.

For these reasons we oppose our continued membership in the Trans-Majatran Corridors Network and we congratulate our coalition partners for their courage in taking a stance against infrastructure globalization. When this bill passes I will, as Minister of Infrastructure and Transport, initiate the dismantling of most highways built under this system and help develop alternative land uses, including mixed-use areas, parks, residential complexes, or commercial zones.

Random fact: When you join the game, you will find yourself with only zero seats. That's because your party's representatives haven't been elected yet. You need to establish your party's position on issues by proposing several bills that your party wants passed and sending them to vote. This raises your visibility and if you do it enough, you will win seats at the next election.
