Message | Mr Speaker, This is the TUSC plan for spending. We propose this to ensure further advancements in medical care, investment in the skills of our young people, as well as capital investment to improve productivity. In order to balance the budget and give us a strong surplus, we have proposed modest cuts in the Head of Government budget and the Foreign Affairs budget, but most importantly we have made a huge cut to what is in our view a bloated defence budget. The overall outcome of this proposal would be greater investment, greater productivity and greater growth, all whilst cutting Government spending, although we would look to extend spending further as circumstances require in the future |

Message | Mr Speaker, Each pound not spent is a pound wasted from the tax payer. Such a large surplus is not something we can agree on. Along with the massive cuts to our armed forces. Our great empire can not be guarded by a military that does not enjoy the full support of His Majesty's Diet. Alice Teodruschu |

Message | Mr Speaker, Whilst we agree with the leader of the Opposition on the first point, we decided to propose a surplus in order to allow us flexibility at a future date. On the second point the defence budget is still large, although I understand that the Honourable Lady will simply never agree with me on that, and we will disagree with each other respectfully as we sometimes do Aaron West (TUSC - Finance Spokesman) |
