Voting deadline: April 4410
Description[?]:
Smoking is a danger to public health, and should be eliminated. Smoking is a leading cause of cancer and other organ-related diseases and issues and costs our health service an unsightly amount to treat. It is unfair on the taxpayer to have to fund this benefit-free addiction which harms only and helps not at all. It is also unfair on non-smokers to be at constant risk of chest infections and other such illnesses from the consumption of second-hand smoke. It makes our streets smell dreadfully, and that only drives away business and tourism. It also damages the environment, as the combustion in each and every cigarette releases carbon gases which can hurt animals and plants and contribute to global warming - all while the plastic waste produced clogs our rivers and other natural environments. It has no benefits but ninety-nine-plus problems. Why should we keep on footing the bill and inhaling the consequences of other people's stupid decisions? August Schiltz Health and Social Services Spokesperson for the UMR |

Message | Although we agree that tobacco is a serious drug in a modern society, Dorvik already has very strong regulations over where and when you are able to use these products. The use of tobacco in Dorvik is not a serious issue that affects our society, and I believe we should be focusing on other problems in our society. Kuno Rottmann Vorsitzender des Ministerrates |

Message | The massive carbon emissions caused by smoking and the many diseases it fuels are a serious issue in our society, and despite regulations we still see contributions to global warming, environmental issues and health issue as a result of the production and sale of cigarettes in this country. Random fact: By default the head of government is the ultimate authority within a national government. In general terms, heads of government are expected to consult with cabinet colleagues (including those from other parties) before making significant decisions but they remain responsible for government action. |
