Description[?]:

Mr. Speaker,

The Kazulian government has announced that any Vanukean ship, civilian merchants nonetheless, coming across a Northern Council vessel will be harrassed and sent back to their port of origin. The Kazulian Defence Minister, encouraged by his colleagues, has the audacity to dictate law on international waters. And why, mr. Speaker? Because Vanuku conducts business with the nation of Kalistan.

As Prefect of the Grand Council and this Kingdom I have argued before to deploy the Fourth Fleet to the seas around Seleya, this was then wholeheartedly accepted by this body. Now I wish to instruct the good Minister Anzlék to order the Fourth Fleet to start escorting Vanukean civilian shipping. Our maritime trade will NOT be hampered, our sovereignty will NOT be breached! Furthermore I propose severe sanctions on Kazulia until they cease this ridiculous attempt at controlling Kalistan and Vanuku.

Mr. Speaker, I could have done this without the Grand Council but I understand this could heighten the tensions between our good Kingdom and the jingoists in the North.

Prefect of the Grand Council

MessageMr. Speaker,

I stand before you as an old man. I was there during the Coup in '92, I am here now. But in all my 80 years I have never seen something this ridiculous. Kazulia is throwing around accusations that Kalistan is wrong because they close the Strait that is technically part of their waters and then announces they will stop all Vanukean ships on international waters? What kind of twisted reality do these Northern apes live in?

I propose we immediately send an ultimatum to Kazulia. And to add on that, we ought to tell the world that any nation that stops our ships on international waters is attacking our Kingdom! Let the Fleet escort our vessels, let them defend our proud merchants when some mountain-dwelling, yellow snow-eating, hollow-headed Kazulian is trying to dictate the laws of the world!

I yield the floor. May Kazulia rot in hell.

MessageMr Speaker,

This ridiculous provocation is, in my opinion, the latest in a long line of attempts by Kazulia to undermine our nation. Firstly, the attacks through the World Congress over Jelbania, then Northern Council attempts to muscle in on security issues in Majatra and now this.

What does Kazulia hope to gain from this move? It is totally shortsighted as it will lead to hundreds of millions of VANs of reciprocal trade deals being stopped between Vanuku and Northern Council members states. It will be to the economic detriment of many, many nations not just ours.

The deals our private defence companies carried out with Kalistan were perfectly legitimate and were brokered before Kazulia even entered into the Ananto Straits conflict. What is also interesting is how the Kazulian defence minister calls for our shipping to be prevented from entering the waters of all Northern Council nations. It proves once and for all what we have long suspected - the Northern Council is simply a puppet organisation of Kazulia and is being used to achieve their hegemonic ambitions under the guise of co-operative security.

As the Prefect says, enough is enough! I endorse his decision to order the Fourth Fleet to escort our shipping and also believe severe sanctions should be introduced against Kazulia until they realise they cannot continue to bully Terra into compliance - and they certainly cannot bully Vanuku.

MessageMr Speaker,

Following this debate, I will be leaving for my trip to Kalistan to discuss enhanced diplomatic relations and closer security ties with that nation. Given Kazulia's behaviour, I believe that it is imperative that we work within other nations in their perceived sphere - Kalistan being a perfect example.

Also, given the decision to use the Fourth Fleet to carry out enhanced patrols and escort duties in the seas of the northern hemisphere it is imperative to locate a number of friendly "harbours" to provide safe refuelling and refitting locations should we need them. This will form part of my discussions.
