MessageMr. Speaker,

We already pay full price for ordinance from our private defense industries! Why should we subsidize their bottom line?!

With a public defense industry, the people of Hutori control all aspects of ordinance production. We cannot do that under the current policy.
With a wholly private defense industry, companies can compete to give Hutorians the best deal. With government subsidy, we inherently don't get the most competitive prices!

Frankly, Mr. Speaker, we are getting the worst of both worlds! I hope the government will join the opposition in ending subsidies for the defense industry.

MessageMr. Speaker,

Once again I think the NLP misunderstand what the actual law is. We have actually pushed more of the financial responsibility on to private corporations, while maintaining control over what is researched, produced and who it is sold to.This arrangement is actually the best of both worlds we pay less than a quarter of the cost of research and development and still get to dictate what happens to these technologies. Also with the current bidding process that DARPPO operates under, it assures that we get the highest quality product at the lowest possible price. I urge the other parties of Parliament to join me in saying no to this bill and yes to keeping Hutorian technologies among Hutori and her allies.
