Bill: Economic Reform - "Luxury" Tax
Details
Submitted by[?]: Partisans And Artisans League
Status[?]: defeated
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: December 2204
Description[?]:
As the PAL has always argued, the so called luxury tax is an indisciminant tax leveled on unsuspecting consumers on items that are deemed by some pen-pushing civil servant to be a 'luxury'. We therefore propose that it be lowered to the level of sales tax on all other items, which is at present 0%. We would also encourage the parliament to keep the two taxes at the same level in future. |
