Bill: Argicultural Reform Act

Details

Submitted by[?]: Lodamun Labour Party

Status[?]: defeated

Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: September 4414

Description[?]:

Members of the Presidium,

The argicultural sector is an important sector in Lodamun, as it provides our nation with safe and healthy foods. To futher protect this my Ministry proposes the following.

1. Allow local governments to determine when a farm is too large. Currently we have the same rules for the entire nation. The Ministry thinks it is important that local governments have a larger say in this, as some parts of our country larger farms pose less of a problem, while in other parts the current nation wide standard is still too large.
2. Chemicals pesticides, herbicides and fungicides are currently forbidden to be used. We want to lift this ban as some diseases, fungi or pests are better treated with chemicals. We of course want safe use of chemicals and therefor we propose that the government regulates the use of these chemicals.

Zhong Lynn
Minister of Food and Argiculture (LLP)

MessageMr. Speaker,

While we see ourselves supporting the article on farm size, we cannot accept a lift on the ban of pesticides. The New Green Party of Lodamun will oppose this bill.
