MessageMr. Speaker,

We will vote for the Royalists' procedural change to the constitution - as long as the tax rate is increased to 5 percent for corporate entities. This would still make Hutori competitive on the international scene as so few nations have a corporate tax rate of less than 5 percent.

We hope this concession is seen as not too high a price to pay for our yes vote on procedure.

MessageMr Speaker,

This is a disgusting move by the New Liberals in the wake of the death of our dear Emperor Alexander I. We are trying to move forward and allow his Heir Mary III to take the throne, but the New Liberals are playing political games. I hope all parties who respect the Hutorian throne will reject this bill.

MessageMr Speaker,

I speak now not for the party but for myself. I have been and always will be an avowed Republican. As the members of this house know we offer our party members a vote of conscience on issues dealing with the monarchy. I always vote in a Republican manner and encourage my membership to do the same. With each passing year more and more people in the party agree with me than my predecessors.

When the Royalists and Federalists ran Russ and Connie out of government I bet they didn't realize they'd be losing reliable Monarchist partners. All I have to say is that the republican spirit is strong and growing. I recognize that it is not yet strong enough to cut ties with the Monarchy, but I - and many of my party - will not vote for any change to the constitution that has a Monarchist bent unless given small concessions like the one I've proposed.

OOC: There's about to be a massive fight between the Republican and Royalist wings of the party - likely ending in Republican control of the party... maybe even going so far as to be a political wing of a republican paramilitary force a la Ireland's Sinn Fein and the IRA. Trying to make the RP a bit more fun!

If anyone would like to take control of one of my monarchist characters to join their party, I'd be happy to oblige. Pavel Jucewicz and Peter Knox are the two that come to mind. I'd basically write a newspaper article saying Peter, Pavel, or whoever is leaving the party to caucus with whatever new party takes him on. You'd then take control of the character and I wouldn't have anything to do with him/her from here on out. DM if you are interested!

Random fact: The people in your nation don't like inactive parties. When you often abstain from voting for a bill, they will dislike your party and your visibility to the electorate will decrease significantly. Low visibility will means you are likely to lose seats. So keep in mind: voting Yes or No is always better than Abstaining.
