MessageI believe Liberty proposed a law stating that if a quorum of 40% of all seats available in congress is not met, early elections will be held, but right now, only 18.8% of the seats are empty, way short of the 40%, so there is no point in holding early elections. We will vote No.

MessageThe law doesn't say anything about not allowing early elections. Just that elections MUST be held if a quorum is not reached.

MessageYou cannot have a election when a quorum is not reached, because Particracy rules say that you can only ask Moderation to call for early elections, and also, RP laws on elections are technically not taken into account by Moderation

MessageThat's not true at all. We can call early elections any time we like. It has got nothing to do with mods. Our quorum rules prevent an underrepresented congress as has happened in the past. Nothing in there says early elections are eliminated. Liberty certainly didn't intend or envisage that when we created the bill.

MessageNow say early elections are normal elections, but you yourself set the quorum to be 40% of all available seats, so doesn't that violate your own law

Random fact: It is the collective responsibility of the players in a nation to ensure all currently binding RP laws are clearly outlined in an OOC reference bill in the "Bills under debate" section of the nation page. Confusion should not be created by displaying only some of the current RP laws or displaying RP laws which are no longer current.

Random quote: "I would rather be exposed to the inconveniences attending too much liberty than to those attending too small a degree of it." - Thomas Jefferson
