Bill: OOC: Capital City Change

Details

Submitted by[?]: Lýðveldisflokkurinn (Republican Party)

Status[?]: passed

Votes: This bill asks for an amendement to the Constitution. It will require two-thirds of the legislature to vote in favor. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: March 4419

Description[?]:

Currently the capital is Jarlahöfn on the island of Suðureyja (Migadon), I think that this would be unlikely because;

- Suðureyja is pretty isolated from mainland Telamon. It would be rare for a capital to be that isolate from the bulk of a country's population and economy.
- Suðureyja would be harder to defend than the rest of the country because of its isolation from the rest of Telamon.
- Jarlahöfn makes sense if perhaps the Telamese people originated from their or was once a colony of Suðureyja, however the Cultural Protocols would suggest that a minority population live on Suðureyja, not our former colonial masters etc.

It would make more sense for the capital to be in mainland Telamon, preferably in a centralised location. This means that Miðland (Sevescia) would be the ideal region to have the capital. A previous party made the exciting find that Telamon was once upon a time known as Grænmörk (Grenmark) (see here http://classic.particracy.net/viewbill.php?billid=568076). Given this information, the city of
Grænhaga emerges as a logical candidate for the capital system. It is in the most central region, easily (historically) defended from the only land border with Hutori and the linguistically can be linked to a historical name for the country.

This isn't an RP'd proposal, but an OOC tidying up exercise.

MessageI would rather suggest a city in Ferene or Antepec, as they're the most economic regions from the continental Telamon. The reason why I suggested Telapolis, and a city from Migadon, as a capital city is because of its history and economy. Migadon, specially because of Telapolis, is the richest region you may found and the region with most history.

The cultural protocols say nothing about the migrations that passed through Migadon, either mentions that there are several ruins which for tourists are exclusive.
