Message | Where's United in this? |
Date | 20:33:03, July 08, 2018 CET | From | Beluzia Socialist People's Party | To | Debating the Cabinet Proposal of August 4420 |
Message | They didn't vote it in last time. I thought we could rule as a minority government with an informal agreement with United. |
Date | 14:37:23, July 09, 2018 CET | From | Unsubmissive Beluzian Workers Party | To | Debating the Cabinet Proposal of August 4420 |
Message | They were probably busy. Either way, we have elections in 5 months |
Date | 14:44:50, July 09, 2018 CET | From | Beluzia Socialist People's Party | To | Debating the Cabinet Proposal of August 4420 |
Message | Yes this has all got too late in the day. Another election cycle passes without a proper government. Here's hoping we are able to form something more easily in July. |
Date | 18:06:14, July 09, 2018 CET | From | Liberty Party | To | Debating the Cabinet Proposal of August 4420 |
Message | Liberty are disappointed no government could be formed despite years of negotiation and there remains a conflicting Prime Ministerial and Vice Presidential role. We'd like to remind all parties that after the next election Congress will have until July 4423 to name a new government or we will have to go to the people again. This might prove to be unworkable in the long term (given how time goes by quickly) but it is the rules. |
Date | 19:09:13, July 09, 2018 CET | From | Beluzia Socialist People's Party | To | Debating the Cabinet Proposal of August 4420 |
Message | We hope parties can work more together and that opposing parties can recognise the legitimacy of minority governments as grand coalitions are equally as unsteady where policy is not closely allied. For example, while we sometimes agree it is hard to believe the BSPP could work coherently with the Liberty Party. |

Message | This said, we agree with our KWRF colleagues that allowing the largest party first go at building a coalition is part of what slows up the process. A party not anting to cede power can hold off for too long and kick government formation into the long grass. We suggest that parties sound each other out by private message and put forward sensible coalitions with agreement about key aspects of legislative agenda. |

Message | We've changed the Government Procedure Act, so the process of allowing the largest party to form a government has been scrapped. We've change it to this instead: This bill will edit the Government Procedure Act of 4181 in the following ways(I have put * near the new additions) Section 1(Making a cabinet) ..1) The Process of forming a new government will begin following the conclusion of the election. ..2) Any Party, with seats in the National Government, may propose a government ..3) Each Party is only allowed to propose 3 cabinets each term. ..4) If Congress fails to establish a new government within the first 2 years of a government an early election must be held ..5) The previous government will act as a caretaker until the new government is made. ..6) Only one government can be formed per term. |
