MessageMr. Speaker,

The LLP is willing to support this bill, the LLP supported many of the proposed changes in the past or defended them when they were law. However, we believe that article 3 of the bill is goes too far in our eyes.

MessageMr. Speaker,

This would give the government way too much say in people's private lives. We shall not support this bill.

Liberal Progressive MP

MessageMr. Speaker,

In the last coalition many of these changes were implemented, and the PSP does not change heart so easily. So we will not support the rolling back of these laws that enshrine our openness as a country. And the Republican Party's explanation, or lack thereof, shows that they are clearly do not care for Lodamun nor its people.

PSP spokesperson on Internal Affairs

MessageMr. Speaker,

We agree with the Liberal Progressives that government should not interfere in this respect. We can also agree with PSP that the lack of explanation for these proposals by the Republican Party is a problem. If they wish to convince people to vote with them on certain issues they should provide argumentation.

MessageMr Speaker,

To the leader of the Labour Party, we're happy to remove article three if that will engender the support of the Labour Party for these proposals. Please let us know if this is the case, or whether you'll will bale out because of the positions of the PSP and the SHP as with the previous proposals on defence matters.

To the PSP and the SHP the arguments for preventing children acquiring certain material or for placing restrictions on obscenity in public are obvious. There is absolutely no benefit to the public in allowing either of the current options on these matters, but there is considerable problems in their legality.

We have removed article 3 in the hope that Labour will honour their commitment to support.
