| Message | Madam Speaker, It is with great sadness that I must inform the Duma that President Lysenko has suffered a serious illness and is in extremely poor health. As a result, the President is no longer capable of executing the office that he holds. President Lysenko has informed myself and the Patriotic Union of his desire to resign from the role and for new elections to be held. President Lysenko was first elected to the presidency in 4413 and has been in office for almost 12 years. He was elected 4 times by the Trigunian people and is highly-respected in Trigunian society. I hereby announce that with the passing of this bill, elections will take place to elect President Lysenko's successor and a fresh sitting of the State Duma. - Nikolai Zhirov, Parliamentary Leader (PU) |
