| Education is needed to build trust within the people, as well as to teach them Jienist principles. However, funding of private schools, even on a case by case basis, should be eliminated to ensure that adequate resources go to public schools. Those who argue that private Jienist institutions will be crushed have no basis for their argument, as all public schools are inherently Jienist. As for punishment, students should ultimately be shamed into doing what is moral and right. Some students respond well to punishment like detention or apology letters, others respond better to corporal punishment. In order to better teach the future of Yingdala, teachers must have full discretion to teach as they know best - which includes punishment. |

| Message | Mr. Speaker, We believe that this legislation would contradict the values set out by the Son of Heaven in the Jianwen Era proclamation, in which he states: "Jienist and Guidao scholars who open a private academy to teach pupils should be reported to the Imperial Household Agency so that they may be rewarded." (http://classic.particracy.net/viewbill.php?billid=575522) It is clear His Imperial Majesty feels that private academies are inline with instilling our religious and philosophical traditions in the younger generations. In so far as the Jianwen Emperor is recognized to be the Son of Heaven, we will obey to his wisdom on spiritual matters. The opposition petition suggests there are no grounds for an argument in support of private Jienist institutions. We posit the divine words of His Imperial Majesty for their consideration. | Message | Mr. Speaker, If it is assured that the government will only support private institutions that are Jienist or more focused on the Guidao aspects of Jienism, then we would support the current policy, but we would like a resolution or imperial edict to that effect.
