Bill: New Liberal Constitutional Reform Bill 1 of 3 - Motto Observance and Translation and Terminology Ordinance (MOTTO) Act of 4426

Details

Submitted by[?]: New Liberal Party of Hutori

Status[?]: passed

Votes: This bill asks for an amendement to the Constitution. It will require two-thirds of the legislature to vote in favor. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: January 4428

Description[?]:

This bill would provide for the translation of our national motto:

"Quinon proficit deficit"

into Luthori and Mashacara for selective use wherever it might appear on government documents, currency, etc. It does not require the motto to be translated, but sets the Luthori and Mashacara translations as "equal to" the original Ancient Selucian and allows their use.

Recognizing the Mashacara people and their long commitments to Hutori, this a notable achievement and we would gladly support this Amendment.

MessageMr. Speaker,

As we believe we have enough support to amend the constitution to include the Mashacara people in our National Motto and modernize it through the use of the Luthori language, we will put this bill up for a vote.

MessageMr. Speaker,

We find the inclusion of translations unnecessary as the motto is already in a non-native language. Keeping it in this language would be more universal and simpler. That said, this issue is a very low priority and we will defer judgement to parliamentary consensus.
