Message | Mr Speaker I rise to speak on an issue that restricting individuals rights to freedom of association. The current law allows unions to discriminate against non-members and either force them to join the union or outright not hire them on the basis of their union membership. We believe this is wrong and goes against the values of our nation. While we support the right for workers to unionise and for unions to advocate for workers rights, we will NEVER support closed, union and agency shops, which divide our workers, and force individuals to sign up to unions which may not advocate for policies they believe in. A prime example is a union which may advocate for traditional marriage policies, employees who are LGBT who might work in a shop owned by a union, will be forced to pay union fees to this said union, which will advocate policies against the employees own interests. I call on all parties to support this bill. Zoe Kennedy MP for Saint John South Leader of the (NP) National Party |

Random fact: When you join the game, you will find yourself with only zero seats. That's because your party's representatives haven't been elected yet. You need to establish your party's position on issues by proposing several bills that your party wants passed and sending them to vote. This raises your visibility and if you do it enough, you will win seats at the next election. |
