Message | Mr. Speaker, We believe this is a common sense proposal for a tax increase on corporations. A 3 percent rate is still very, very competitive in the global market. We will vote for this bill, as it will provide the public purse a little bit of extra funding in the case this war goes on longer than expected. Should the surplus exceed 15 million HLR after the war, the New Liberals will propose a tax rebate. Peter Knox MP for Axminster South Parliamentary Leader of the New Liberals |

Message | Mr. Speaker, Our zero corporate tax rate makes us among the very top most competitive countries in the world for corporations to settle. It sends a clear message to wealthy multinational corporations that they should invest here. It's more than just an economic policy, it's a brand. If you were a multinational corporation looking for a country to base your headquarters in, would you choose one with a 3% tax rate or a *ZERO* percent tax rate? The *zero* may not have that much of a marginal effect on your finances, but it certainly sounds a lot more attractive. Norbert Lowell Ambassador of the Scientian Enclave |

Message | Mr. Speaker, with all due respect to the Ambassador of the Scientian Enclave, we are in the business of governing... not branding. |

Message | Mr. Speaker, We did not suggest solely focusing on branding, but rather preserving our country's image as an attractive designation for foreign investment. Does the USPH hope to attract more investment by increasing taxes? What message does it tell companies when we raise their taxes? Norbert Lowell Ambassador of the Scientian Enclave |

Random fact: Cultural Protocol bills must provide a real-life equivalent or short description for the ethnic groups, languages and religions contained in them, such that it would be easy for an unfamiliar player to understand (e.g. "Dundorfian = German"). Where appropriate, they should also provide guidance to players on where to find help with translations and character names. This might include, for example, links to Google Translate, Behind the Name's Random Name Generator and Fantasy Name Generators. |
