Message | Good point, and interesting one. The question is if it is better to have a defence industry where the Government has absolutely no hold on them, they cannot say to the weapons industry "Ok, you have developed an awsome weapon now, We do not think you should sell this to a third party. If you do, we will withdraw funding", if we needed to. We would in other issues also have no opportunity or strenght whatsoever to influence and cotnroll where we need to be able to controll. Or yours where we have a open market, survival of the fittests, and such, and perhaps a more open market where we get more stuff for less price, but we can be more or less assured that we will never get technological supremacy as the arms industry does as they please and we can't tell em not to do things as much as we can now. |
