We propose the following proposals in order to make life easier for producers and businesses selling products. |

Proposed: The government recommends food safety standards, but they are not enforced upon businesses.

Scope of food ingredient labeling (if present).
Old value:: All ingredients and corresponding nutritional information must be listed.
Current: All ingredients and corresponding nutritional information must be listed.
Proposed: Only the major ingredients need to be listed.
Article 3
Proposal[?] to change Listing of controversial ingredients, such as genetically modified (GM) ingredients (if food labelling is applied).
Old value:: Any chemicals used in agrigulture or processing, and any GM ingredients must be listed.

Old value:: Smoking is legal everywhere, at the discretion of the property owner. However, service/employer property owners that allow smoking must provide a separate non-smoking section.
Current: Smoking is legal outdoors and in private homes and clubs, but illegal indoors in places of employment, with the exception of places that primarily serve liquor.
Proposed: Smoking is legal everywhere, at the discretion of the property owner, and is legal in government-owned buildings.

Message | Mr. Speaker, The LLP is against this bill as we believe this can put and likely will put many of our citizens in danger. People should be able to know what they eat, what is in it and that it was tested by an independent organization on safety. Futhermore the LLP believes that we should promote a healthy lifestyle for our citizens. For those we support regulation on products like alcohol and tabacco.
