Description[?]:
Mr. Speaker, This act may be very controversial but it will satisfy both sides for many reasons. Firstly many of our citizens wish for the legalization of recreational drugs, there is already an illegal market and let us be real frank: we need to stop this black market for drugs. Especially with Black Thursday we will only see an increase of the black market. Secondly if the government controls the sale we can rake in a hefty profit while also assuring a good quality so no citizens get hurt. Lastly let us not forget that on the agenda of our current cabinet is reestablishing all diplomatic relations that have been overturned. Kalistan, a nation which we were building very strong ties with, is the worlds leading exporter of recreational drugs. If we appease them this way we could very well win a great favour. Baron Jebr-Heinz von Bismarck Parliamentary Leader of the GNP |

Message | Mr Speaker, I find myself agreeing with Baron Bismark on all the points he brings up and we would obviously welcome the trade benefits and renewing of ties with Kalistan that this will potentially lead to. However, I also believe this Council needs to look at our Recreational Drug Use Policy contained in a separate law (http://classic.particracy.net/viewvariable.php?variable=RECREATIONAL_DRUGS) We currently ban the consumption of all recreational drugs under this law and that would obviously be at odds with the proposal in this bill and severely limit its effectiveness. Therefore, I wonder if the Health Minister would be in a position to relax this law also so that things could move more smoothly? Jezklune Jebrsme Shtén Trade and Industry Minister |

Random fact: In cases where a party has no seat, the default presumption should be that the party is able to contribute to debates in the legislature due to one of its members winning a seat at a by-election. However, players may collectively improvise arrangements of their own to provide a satisfying explanation for how parties with no seats in the legislature can speak and vote there. |
