LEADER OF THE OPPOSITION ACT

Article i - Purpose

i) This Act hereby formally creates the position of Leader of the Opposition.

Article ii - Appointment

i) The Leader of the Opposition is the leader of the largest party in Congress not involved in government.

Article iii - Role

i) The Leader of the Opposition:
i-a) Acts as chief critic of the government.
i-b) May be invited to attend formal functions and services with the Head of Government or Head of State.

Article iv - Pay and Protection

i) The Leader of the Opposition is entitled to the same levels of pay and protection as a Cabinet Minister.

Article v - Incapacity

i) If the designated Leader of the Opposition is unable to perform his duties an Acting Leader of the Opposition shall be named.
i-a) This position will be filled by another member of the official opposition.
