MessageMr Speaker,

This is outrageous. We have already put forward a budget that will bring us back to a surplus and it has already received support of a majority of the house. This is unnecessary and will drive businesses out of Hutori killing jobs and our economy. We will not ever support increasing the corporate tax rate higher than it already is. In fact, we would rather see changes to other taxes which would allow us to eliminate the corporate tax altogether, putting Hutori back into the small, coveted group of nations without a corporate tax.

We could use the money generated and increase our spending on programs such as Medicare, education, and infrastructure.

Increasing the corporate tax rate will drive business away and and those that stay will pass on the increases in taxes as price increases to their consumers; the very people the Consumer Party is claiming to protect. To both protect our business competitive environment and to protect the people from facing increased prices we urge all parties to vote against this clear cash grab by the CPH.

MessageMr. Speaker,
There are more direct ways to insure that prices stay low than to tax corporations the same as essential goods. As long as public stock trades are legal in hutori and capital gains are taxed as earned income, stockholders will continue to be taxed only 3 percent more than people who make the same amount of money doing actual work to benefit our economy

If it is less profitable or more expensive for a company to do business in Hutori they will go to somewhere it isnt; very simple logic. The companies that chose to remain may increase the price of goods or services to offset the increases in taxes. Instead of doing a blatant money grab we can move that we at least maintain our highly competitive business tax rate instead of scaring companies away with this socialist tax grab.

Random fact: When it comes to creating a Cultural Protocol in a Culturally Open nation, players are not necessarily required to provide a plausible backstory for how the nation's cultural background developed. However, the provision of a plausible backstory may be a factor in whether Moderation approves the Cultural Protocol if players in surrounding nations question its appropriateness for their region of the game map.
