Bill: Immigration reform

Details

Submitted by[?]: Consumers party of Hutori

Status[?]: defeated

Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: January 4437

Description[?]:

The purpose of this bill is to allow people to come to our country more easily. This will help us by
1. putting stress on other countries to treat their citizens better so they don't flee to Hutori,
2. increasing our population and our economy,
3. allowing the government to spend less, freeing up money to reduce taxes or increase spending on projects like education and infrastructure.

The bill will impose the following proposals with these exceptions
If a foreign power can give reasonable proof that a citizen of Hitori born in their nation is a criminal the government shall extradite them.

MessageMr. Speaker

It is apparent even from this very early stage the Honourable Minister of Foreign Affairs has no concept on what kind of policy they are bringing forward, nor the Minister of Internal Affairs will have to deal with. By ignoring illegal aliens you are full inviting terrorists, criminals and those who would abuse our system into our nation without any checks on them. They will put an immense strain onto our system rather then being able to intergrate into our system.

Further, by allowing anyone to claim nationality there will be those who will abuse the system. A criminal could commit a crime in a foreign nation, claim Hutorian citizenship and fully expect our nation to pick up the tab. Rather then make pointless virtue signalling, how about the Minister of Foreign Affairs and the Minister of Internal Affairs come up with a legitimate plan for our nation.

MessageMr. Speaker,
I like the Idea of the progressive royalists to check the criminal history of immigrants. As the foreign minister, I will do everything in my power to communicate with other countries and prevent known "terrorists, criminals and those who would abuse our system" from entering our country. However, I would like every future voter on this bill to understand that becoming a citizen does not prevent you from arrest for breaking the law. If a terrorist was found in our country they would be dealt with by my colleague john smith and his branch of government regardless of whether or not he/she was an immigrant.
Ms. King has also mistaken in her belief that the nationality test includes a background check of criminal history. As minister of foreign affairs, my first action was to check the border regulations and communicate with other countries on the issue. I found that the previous minister of foreign affairs communicated with other countries about potential criminals claiming immigration to prevent them from hiding in Hutori. This worked and will continue to work under my sight as foreign affairs minister.
After hearing input from my colleague I will change the bill to include parts about criminals.

MessageMr Speaker,

A point of order, the Honorable Leader of the Concumers Caucus has been refering to other members by their given name instead of by the name of the riding which they represent, or a role that they hold in this house. I know they are new and are still getting used to the rules of the house, but I thought it should be brought up so that they will know for next time.

OOC: Don't mean to nit pick like that but for realism sake I figured it should be brought up that we don't refer to members directly or by their given name.

MessageMr. Speaker

I thank both the Minister for their speedy response, noting that others in their coalition rarely show the spine to respond to our questions, and to the Member for Fairview Prosperity for that point of order.

Mr. Speaker, despite the reassurances that the Minister has offered he has not dealt with the more important aspect of the Bill; the fact that we are outright ignoring illegal aliens. This isn't a matter that we aren't openly pursuing them, this is a matter of use dealing with them when they become an issue, this is an issue that the Minister is gutting HBSA's mandate to route out those who would abuse our system. The Minister claims this will save money when in fact it will be a hidden drain as these aliens we are choosing to ignore will still use our infrastructure, their children will still use our education system and they will still use our welfare and health care system... but again we should by this Minister's logic ignore them.

I ask the Minister yet again, instead of virtue signalling and creating a situation where we may see a flood of refugees coming to our borders because of perceived weaknesses, will the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Minister of Internal Affairs either scrape this bill or come up with a legitimate plan to deal with aliens and immigration?

MessageMr. Speaker,
I would like the chairwoman for the royalist progressive caucus and all the voters on this bill to understand that illegal aliens cannot receive welfare of any form. Collecting welfare requires an ID If it didn't any citizen of hutori could collect welfare an infinite times weather they needed it or not.

OOC: thanks everyone for helping me get the format correct. Is their still anything I'm doing wrong.

MessageMr. Speaker

Obtaining an ID in Hutori isnt exactly difficult, go to your local Municipal Office and you'll have one in fifteen minutes. This will not change the fact we are ignoring illegal aliens that will be a drain on our system without any form of documentation or preparation for them to be in this nation. The current system works fine for our needs.

So I ask again; will the Minister and this government abandon this unneeded bureaucratic change to our system that will only damage it or will they work to actually improve it with us?

MessageMr. Speaker,

I want to make it absolutally clear that what the chairwoman says is not true. If you abtane an ID you are a documented citizen. By definition if you have ID you are not an illegal alien.

MessageMr. Speaker,

I am working to nationalize the laws on non driver ID cards but currently the vary slightly from state to state. In my home province of falristan here is the gist of the law.

You can apply for an identification card at any age. Children under the age of 17 will need consent from your parent or guardian.

To apply for a photo ID card, you must:

Be a citizen or a legal resident of The Commonwealth of Hoturi
Have your original birth certificate.
Have your Social Security card.
Be able to provide enough documents to verify your identity.

The card will display your name, picture, height, weight, hair color, eye color, and in some provinces your sex. Other differences between provinces include weather you are measured/weighed or if you are asked for your height weight and whether children can get ID.

Random fact: It usually takes up to an hour for election results to generate. During this time, the "Next Election" date is put forward a month, which is confusing. Do not worry! In a short time, the election result will generate and the "Next Election" date will then correct itself.
